Lots of Happenings

Man, we are brimming over with exciting stuff at ACC! Here are a few things that you absolutely need to check out.

  • Nexus starts this weekend! Last year our youth minister, Brian Morrissey, really began to feel like our ministry to Jr./Sr. High students wasn't hitting on all cylinders anymore. We had been running the same ministry programs for teens for about 5 years. In teen culture, 5 years might as well be 50 years. The only constant in their world is change. If you don't change, you will lose them. So we literally scrapped everything that we had been doing in our ministry to students. Everything has been changed. The format, the staff, even the night of the event. I'm stoked to see our new student ministry in action! It all starts with Nexus this Sunday night. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Students, you need to be there. Parents, you need to get them there.
  • Our Annual Hearts Dinner/Dance is Friday, February 8 from 6:30-9:30 pm. The event will be held at Receptions in Eastgate. This is a beautiful event for all ages, Sr. High through Senior Citizens! It is also open to singles and couples. Join us for a wonderful evening of food, music from the last six decades, and most importantly, fellowship and fun with God’s family! There truly is something for everyone. The cost is $20 per person. The deadline to register is this Sunday! If you're afraid that you'll forget to register, just email me right now with the number attending.
  • Our new series of messages called When Life & Truth Collide starts this weekend. I don't normally say this because I don't want to be accused of "over-hyping," but I am beyond excited about this series. Way beyond! And I'm especially pumped about this first message. This Sunday, we're going to explore The Collision of Unanswered Prayer. Unanswered prayer seems to be an almost taboo subject for a lot of Christians. Garth Brooks is allowed to sing about it, but we're not allowed to admit that sometimes it feels like our prayers go unanswered. Well, I'm not afraid to talk about it. And I will talk about it this weekend. See ya Sunday, 9:00 am or 11:00 am. You don't want to miss it.
