Awesome Weekend
Jan/084
Man, things were bumping at ACC this weekend! It was great to see so many people engaged in worship. The energy was definitely up. And it's always a great feeling when you just know that the message connected. We talked about The Collision of Unanswered Prayer, and it hit home with a ton of people.
I did have one fella ask me how much TV I watch. I used illustrations from the Country Music Awards, 24, George Lopez, & Jerry Springer. Please hear me right now…I do NOT watch Springer! And contrary to how it may appear, I do more in life than simply watch TV!
Then last night, our student ministry launched its new flagship program called Nexus. It was awesome! I was blown away by the attendance and the excitement of our students. Everything was done with a high standard of excellence. It was a ton of fun! Big props to Brian Morrissey and everyone in Luminous Student Ministries for a great launch. Can't wait to see what's next!

You also referred to Jesus as "he didn't go all Jack Bauer and break John out of prison". But I think you do more than watch tv. Yesterday was great. It really hit what I've been going through since my dad died. I know God didn't answer my prayers. But maybe he answered my Dad's silent prayers. I just know I miss him more than anything. You reminded me that "I AM" is here and that the picture is bigger than me.
Thanks
Julie

I'm so glad that God's Word ministered to you, Julie. You are constantly in my family's prayers.

The message was perfect timing for me. Sunday morning prior to church, I received a phone call from my aunt informing me of the death of my cousin Perry. He was only 44 years old with 5 children, 3 under the age of 16. I feel the same way Julie, maybe God didn't answer our prayers, but maybe he answered Perry's. He had been sick for sometime now and his body just couldn't take it anymore. "I AM" is here and he will always be here for us, especially through the mourning.
Thanks!
Stacy

Your comments are blowing my mind, ladies. I am so glad the message was so timely for you. Lean on the "I AM." It may not make sense at the moment, but he's promised to never leave you.
