600th Post

I wrote my first blog post on July 24, 2006. Now, here I am writing my 600th post.

Blogging has had a deeper impact on me and my ministry than I ever dreamed it would. Here are a few reasons why I've grown to love it…

  • It gives our church an insider's look into my life. It's not that I arrogantly believe that my life is so great that everyone should know about it. It's the simple truth that people want to know their pastor. Blogging is one great avenue for that to happen.
  • It enables me to extend the impact of Sunday throughout the week. I have a limited amount of time to preach on Sunday. I inevitably cut some stuff from my message each week. But instead of going into a file, many times the stuff that I cut out of the message will appear on my blog. It's awesome to have a tool to keep the message fresh in peoples' minds throughout the week.
  • It's a challenge. I try to post something daily. That's not easy. Blogging has stretched my creativity and my writing ability.
  • It gives me an opportunity to have a global impact. I've received emails from people in foreign lands who were blessed by something I wrote on my blog. Blogging is a 21st century way to carry out Jesus' command.
  • It's fun. I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it.
  • I hope this blog is a blessing to you. My goal is to challenge you, motivate you, encourage you, and to give you a good laugh from time to time.

    On to the next 600…
